As I presume many of
you know, Hurricane Sandy is now heading toward the East Coast and is
likely to cause major damage. When I last checked, it is scheduled to
make landfall on Monday evening or early Tuesday morning. Depending on
where and when it hits land and how high the storm surge turns out to
be, the effects could linger later into the week and affect the
conference. We are monitoring the developments and will be in touch
with you at the earliest possible moment should we need to make any
changes to the conference plan. In the eventuality that we do have to
make changes, I will send an email to conference participants and post an announcement on the society's blog. Thanks in advance for your
patience. We hope that the conference will take place as planned. In
the interim, please let me know if I can answer any questions or be of
help in any way.
